I cut and pasted information from my newsletter from Free Speech for People who were instrumental in drafting the amendment:

U.S. Senators Tom Udall (NM) and Jeanne Shaheen (NH) announced last week the reintroduction of the Democracy For All Amendment in the Senate, which will overturn disastrous Supreme Court cases like Citizens United that have allowed big money interests to dominate our elections and undermine our democracy. Forty-seven senators have already signed on as original cosponsors, and the companion bill in the House (H.J.Res.2) has more than 130 cosponsors and counting.

Please call your Senators today and urge them to support the Democracy For All Amendment.

We must reclaim our democracy from the tyranny of big money interests which are drowning out the voices of ordinary citizens in our political process. The Democracy For All Amendment will end the system of unlimited campaign spending and will lift up the promise of political equality for all.

After nine years, the nationwide movement calling for a constitutional amendment to get big money out of politics is gaining momentum. 20 states and more than 800 localities have now called for such an amendment, and activists on the ground continue to push for the 28th Amendment across the country. We must now urge our Members of Congress to make such a commitment on the federal level.

Call your Senators today, and help make history!

  1. Contact Congress:
  2. U.S. Senate: * Telephone: 202-224-3121.

Why not let your Representative in the House know too!

U.S. House of Representatives: * Telephone: 202-225-3121.

Since they are all on vacation time right now, you could call their local offices too!  Don't be shy or put-off by the Senate's inaction or McConnell's obstruction.  Let your voice be heard. It's your right!

"Where law ends tyranny begins"  John Locke
Locke defines tyranny as "the exercise of power beyond right." A just leader is bound by the laws of the legislative and works for the people, whereas a tyrant breaks the laws and acts on his own behalf
