Rod Rosenstein is apparently telling his friends and colleagues he is about to be fired by Trump. Trump knows he signed off on the raid on Michael Cohen. Your thoughts?

I think Rosenstein is a straight arrow career professional in the Department of Justice, now the Deputy Attorney General.  Mueller reports to him in the special investigation.  If Trump fired Rosenstein it would be an obvious payback for Rosenstein's approval of the raid on Cohen and to throw a wrench into the Mueller investigation.  If Trump fired Rosenstein he would probably be planning to put someone in his place to derail Mueller's investigation.  Obstruction of justice would be the obvious Trump motive in both cases.  If Trump fired Rosenstein and Congress then did nothing at all in response it would be a monstrous affront to the rule of law, an abandoning of the rule of law by the Legislative Branch, particularly by the Republicans in the House.
