All, there is a problem with one of our infrastructure providers, which has caused many of the articles on the website to be missing. We will recover them as soon as possible. Apologizes for any confusion this has caused.

Looking back on 2017, looking ahead to 2018
When we started The Trump Impeachment website in January 2017, we were sure that Trump would prove so unfit for the job of POTUS that he would be quickly removed from office. We were determined to make sure the news about Trump got out in the face of cries of "fake news" by Trump and his supporters. Trump himself didn't disappoint, making up lies about Obama, denying Russian meddling in the election, making sexist remarks, siding with white supremacists, and nearly starting a nuclear war with his reckless tweeting, to name only a few of his misdeeds.

What was wrong in our assumption is that members of the GOP would do their constitutional duty and support the removal of Trump. With the exception of a few like Corker, Flake, and McCain, the bunch of them seem so greedy and motivated by self interest they refuse to do what right for the people they represent. This culminated in the vomit-inducing Trump boot licking session that occurred after the signing of the tax bill.

So, it may seem bleak. But there is still lots of reason for hope in 2018. Here are some reasons to be hopeful that 2018 will be the downfall of Trump:

  • Mueller investigation is getting closer and closer. Something will come of this investigation, but it won't happen quickly. By many accounts, Mueller is working faster than expected. We need to be patient and let Mueller complete his investigation. We don't want him to rush it and leave any loopholes for Trump and his gang to squeeze thru. We need to make Mueller fireproof. This is something we could write to our Senators and Congresspeople about: make sure Mueller can finish his investigation.
  • Tom Steyer is on our side and he is gaining momentum. Everyone should sign the Tom Steyer petition (https://www.needtoimpeach.com)if they haven't already. Tom's original goal was 1 million, but he already has over 4 million signatures. Tom has organized some online protests and we should do our best to support those efforts.
  • Democracy is on our side. The surefire way to get rid of Trump is to exercise our democratic rights and elect as many Democrats as possible in 2018. From what I have been hearing, the Democratic Party is not going to run on an impeach-Trump platform because they want to energize the Trump supporters. They don't want the 2018 elections to be about Trump, so his supporters don't show up at the ballot box. But that doesn't mean they aren't planning on impeaching him as soon as they can. Here is a summary of the strategy: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/12/26/1726388/-To-win-next-year-THINK-impeachment-don-t-SAY-i.

Trump may have a base of 30% support, but the other 70% is more than enough to win elections. We need to get as many anti-Trump candidates elected as possible, so that 2018 will be the year that Trump goes down.

Trump took down petitions website
Trump shut down the whitehouse.gov petitions site cause he was ignoring them anyway even though after 100K votes he was obliged to respond:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/donald-trump-white-house-petition-site-shutdown-barack-obama-tax-returns-public-appeals-a8119891.html

Since net neutrality has come up in some of the topic threads with respect to this site and the newsletter, a couple comments on that. Neutrality needs to be preserved so small sites like this one can have a fair voice. In our particular case, I think we are protected from the effects of removing net neutrality, since the site and the newsletter are run on technology provided by Amazon Web Services. Amazon is a strong supporter of net neutrality, so I don't believe they will do anything unfair to this site:

http://money.cnn.com/2017/12/14/technology/business/fcc-net-neutrality-reactions/index.html

So, we are likely safe if net neutrality is dismantled. However, this won't be the case for all sites on the internet that deserve to have their voices heard. We should all defend net neutrality to support free speech, democracy, and to slow the ever widening gap between the haves and have nots. The net should be provide equal opportunity for all.

'SCAMS" on this site 'outed'
When a comment is reported as spam, it gets hidden. It also goes into a "to be reviewed" state in case someone's legit comment is marked as spam. Sometimes people do this when they disagree with the opinion in the comment.

We occasionally go through the reported as spam comments and review them. For obvious scams, we ban the user from ever commenting again. For legit comments, we unhide them.

'SCAMS" on this site 'outed'
Just so everyone is aware, we believe this site is targeted by hackers. One of its emails accounts "disappeared" for a week, which was suspicious. And phishing emails are regularly sent trying to steal the password for the Facebook page. Several anti-Trump Facebook groups and Twitter accounts have been converted to pro-Trump overnight. A sure sign they were hacked. We have doubled-up on the security protocols for all the accounts related to the site.

There are forces that would like to see this site and its forum shut down. If you notice anything, please let me or one of the moderators know.

wynsar, thanks for pointing this out. I have banned "Yogendra Singh Rajpu" from making Facebook comments on the articles on the site. There were a few others that I also banned for trying to advertise similar money making scams. I keep banning them, but they keep coming back under new user IDs. If you notice others, please let me know and I will ban them. I agree that we need to be viligent.

Note for everyone on the forum, these are Facebook users who are commenting on the articles, not forum users.

Who will Mueller slap the handcuffs on?
CNN and NBC are reporting that Mueller filed sealed charges on Friday and he will be serving them on Monday. What we don't know is who has been charged. Who do you think it will be?

Owner of Dallas Cowboys and entire team take a knee before anthem on Monday Night Football
Good advice RitaRuby. I just wanted to point out that you can send private messages to each other using the forum. Just click on the "talking bubble" icon, which is on the top right of every forum page. It looks like this:

When you use that, you can send and receive messages with other forum members using their forum account names. If you want to share personal details with someone, that is a safe way to do it.
